Shamrock Green Smoothie Bowl (Print version)

A nutrient-packed green bowl blending kiwi, spinach, banana, and creamy yogurt for a fresh, energizing start.

# What you’ll need:

→ Base

01 - 2 cups fresh spinach, packed
02 - 2 ripe kiwis, peeled and chopped
03 - 1 banana, sliced and frozen
04 - 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt or dairy-free alternative
05 - 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk or milk of choice
06 - 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
07 - 1 tablespoon chia seeds

→ Toppings

08 - 1 kiwi, sliced
09 - 1/2 banana, sliced
10 - 1/4 cup gluten-free granola
11 - 2 tablespoons shredded coconut
12 - 1 tablespoon pumpkin seeds
13 - Fresh mint leaves

# Steps:

01 - In a blender, combine spinach, kiwis, frozen banana, Greek yogurt, almond milk, honey, and chia seeds.
02 - Blend until completely smooth and creamy. If the mixture is too thick, add additional almond milk in small increments to reach desired consistency.
03 - Pour the smoothie base evenly into two bowls.
04 - Arrange kiwi slices, banana, granola, shredded coconut, pumpkin seeds, and mint leaves on top of each bowl according to preference.
05 - Serve immediately while cold for optimal texture and flavor.

# Cooking tips:

01 -
  • It tastes indulgent enough to feel like dessert, but your body knows you've done something good for it.
  • The whole thing comes together in less time than it takes to make toast, yet feels intentional and nourishing.
02 -
  • The order of blending matters more than you'd think—spinach first gets broken down before other ingredients can get in its way, and frozen banana goes in when the blender is already moving so you don't stall the motor.
  • Ripe fruit is non-negotiable here because nothing masks mealy kiwis or mushy bananas; if your banana isn't sweet enough on its own, the whole bowl tastes flat no matter what else you add.
03 -
  • Freeze banana slices the night before on a baking sheet, then transfer to a freezer bag so they don't clump together and you can grab exactly what you need.
  • Keep a small bottle of extra almond milk near the blender because you'll always need just a splash more to get the consistency exactly right, and having it there saves you from overblending.
